National Secretariat is the executive body of the Anglican Cursillo Movement of Australia and is made up of two representatives from each member diocese.

An Executive Committee of four, together wiith an Episcopal Advisor, is appointed every three years.

Message from the National Lay Director:

I would like to introduce myself to you as the National Lay Director for this current term of office. I feel extremely privileged to represent you and the Cursillo Movement of Australia.

I did my Cursillo Three Day Weekend in the Diocese of Bendigo in 1996. This weekend had a dramatic impact on me and has led me along many paths in my journey with the Lord.

I come from a teaching background and have taught in a range of educational settings both in and out of Australia, and as a Principal prior to my retirement. For many years I was involved with the Scouting Association. My wife Sue and I are now into retirement mode and are enjoying what the Lord lays before us.

I look forward to meeting up with you all at some stage in the not too distant future.

National Lay Director

National Episcopal Advisor:

Dear Cursillistas and anyone who reads this webpage,

Welcome to Cursillo Australia from Bishop Ian Palmer.

Cursillo is a "ginger group" within the Church. I first came across Cursillo in 1990 and went on the first Men's Cursillo in the Diocese of Newcastle that year.

Then I discovered that Cursillo had begun when lay people taught the Christian faith to each other as they walked to Santiago de Compostela in the 1940s. I walked the Camino Francais across northern Spain in 2000. Both Cursillo and that pilgrimage have deepened my awareness that I am loved and called by God and, having encountered his love for me in Jesus, I continue to enjoy his love and share friendship with him more and more. It is such good news that I enjoy sharing this with others so that all may know love, hope, healing, peace and forgiveness through Jesus.

Now, if you want to know more about me please find me on Facebook – ask to be a friend and keep in touch.

If you want to know more about Cursillo follow the links on this Website.

And if you want to know more about Jesus – please contact me.

Ultreya! (Meaning be encouraged and keep on going.)

National Spiritual Director:

Hi everyone,

My name is the Rev. Susan Allen it is with great humility that I serve our Lord and the National Cursillo Executive as its Spiritual Advisor.

I joined the Cursillo movement when I attended a Cursillo three day weekend in the Diocese of Bendigo, Victoria in 1993. For many years my husband and I attended a group reunion in our local area. Before my ordination I have also served our Lord and the Cursillo movement on the Bendigo Diocesan Secretariat as the Post Cursillo person for three years and then as the Diocesan Lay Director for a further three years.

I have also had the pleasure of being part of many Cursillo three day weekend teams both as a lay and ordained member.

I am ordained as a Pioneer Priest in the Bendigo Diocese and work as a Chaplain at East Loddon prep to year 12 college in northern Victoria.

I leave you with this blessing and look forward to one day meeting you at one of our national events.

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
