Message from the National Lay Director 2009
I commenced my Cursillo journey at Men's 12 in 1996 held in the Diocese of Perth. I must say that my first thoughts were “why on earth am I here ?”, however that soon changed due to the love, sharing and fellowship of others attending the weekend. I have been truly blessed and honoured to have been able to serve our Lord on six Cursillo Teams including Lay Director of Men's 24 held in Bunbury in 2000, and serving on the Secretariat of the Cursillo Movement in the Diocese of Perth as Treasurer and more recently as Diocesan Co Lay Director. I have learnt many things during the past 13 years but most importantly has been the ongoing love, support, sharing and fellowship of the ever growing Cursillo family not only on a Diocesan level but also on a National and International level and also being able to put what I have learnt into practice in the outside world. I will always remember the words that I first heard at my Cursillo weekend in 1996 and reflect on how true they can be.
“MAKE A FRIEND, BE A FRIEND, BRING A FRIEND TO CHRIST”

Message from the National Spiritual Director - 2009
Cursillo became a part of my life when it was introduced into the Diocese of Bendigo in 1990 and I attended Men’s 1. As the Rector of the Parish of Elmore, I encouraged members of the Parish over the next few years to become involved in this great movement. I participated on a number of weekends as a Spiritual Advisor. In 1993 I moved to Kalgorlie WA as Rector and again I encouraged parishioners to be involved in Cursillo, and I was S.A. on several weekends in Perth. In 2000 I moved to Melbourne and the Parish of Westmeadows/Bulla where over my years as Vicar a large number of parishioners attended Cursillo weekends and I was involved as an S.A. on weekends. In the years 2003 – 2007, I was Diocesan Spiritual Director and then elected to be National Spiritual Director in 2008. In the three Dioceses in which I have experienced Cursillo, and particularly in the parishes where I have served, Cursillo has certainly made a significant difference to my ministry and spiritual life, and to the spiritual life and ministry of those involved. I look forward to continued growth as I serve the movement on a national level. God’s blessings are so great!!
Ultreya!

Message from the National Secretary - 2009
I attended my cursillo in Rockhampton in 1998. The next year I was a musician on my first team. In 2000 I was appointed secretary of the Rockhampton Secretariat, and 12 months later became lay director. I was Lay Director until the end of 2008.
I worship at St Peters Church, Springsure where I am a member of the Ministry Leadership Team and chairperson of Parish Council.
I am married to Rod and have two daughters, Linda and Maryanne. Linda is married and has two little boys, Alex and Jack. I have spent most of my life living on cattle properties, but now live in town, where both Rod and I are the sole team at Elders Rural Services.
Other than Cursillo and family, my other passion is campdrafting and cutting ( horse sports) – as an administrator, not a competitor!!
